Caesar salad

A mix of cos lettuce, croutons, bacon, oregano and parmesan cheese combined with our Caesar Dressing makes for a refreshing salad.

Ingredients (serves 6)

  • Café 26 Caesar Salad Dressing
  • 2 large cos lettuce
  • 6 slices of bread
  • olive oil
  • 2 cloves of garlic (or 2 tsp minced garlic)
  • oregano
  • 5 rashers of rindless bacon
  • parmesan cheese shaved


  1. Preheat oven to 160°C
  2. Lightly toast the slices of bread, then cut into small pieces
  3. Place croutons on a lined baking tray and drizzle with olive oil
  4. Mince the garlic cloves and sprinkle over croutons with a pinch of oregano
  5. Toss gently until the croutons are evenly covered and bake for 5 minutes or until golden brown
  6. Chop the bacon rashers and cook on a non-stick fry pan on medium heat. (3-4 minutes or till crispy). Drain on a paper towel.
  7. Chop cos lettuce into 5 cm pieces and place in a large bowl. Add bacon bits and croutons and pour Café 26 Caesar Salad Dressing over salad
    Top with shaved parmesan cheese to taste, and serve.
